SOLAR HOT WATER SYSTEMS

Reduce your utility costs! We are proud to install comprehensive PV systems to significantly decrease your family's expenses

At Solar Soleil, we can help you to minimize utility bills with the installation of a Solar Hot Water system. Solar Soleil offers multiple solar water heating products, and will provide the guidance and evaluation needed to create a personalized solution to fit your needs. We install Heliodyne and Heliocol systems.

solar hot water systems

There are two types of active solar water heating systems:

Direct circulation systems:

Pumps circulate household water through the collectors and into the home. These heating systems are recommended for homeowners residing in above freezing climates.

Indirect circulation systems:

solar domestic hot water systems A non-freezing heat transfer fluid is circulated through collectors and a heat exchanger in order to heat the water prior to entering the home. These hot water systems are popular in climates prone to freezing temperatures.

Solar Domestic Hot Water Systems

Solar water heating systems contain storage tanks and solar collectors. The storage tanks are connected to the collectors by an outlet and an inlet. Solar heating systems can be installed as one or two tank systems.

Tank System Options:

One-Tank System

The back-up water heater is combined with the solar storage in one tank.

Two Tank System

The solar water heater is responsible for heating the water before entering the conventional water heater.

Residential Solar Collectors:

Flat-plate Collector

hot water Glazed flat-plate collectors are insulated, weatherproofed boxes that contain a dark absorber plate under one or more glass or plastic covers. Unglazed flat-plate collectors are commonly used for Solar Pool Heating. These collectors have a dark absorber plate, are made of metal or polymer and do not have a cover or enclosure.

Integral Collector-Storage Systems

Also known as ICS or batch systems, these contain one or more black tanks or tubes in an insulated, glazed box. Cold water first passes through the solar collector, which preheats the water. The water then continues to the conventional backup water heater, providing a reliable source of hot water. ICS systems should be installed only in mild-freeze climates.

Evacuated-Tube Solar Collectors

These collectors feature parallel rows of transparent glass tubes. Each tube contains a glass outer tube and metal absorber tube attached to a fin. The fin's coating absorbs solar energy while inhibiting radiative heat loss. These collectors are frequently used for U.S. commercial applications.
